George gained 16 years of experience in various roles at York Properties, Inc. before being named President on September 1, 2009. He holds his North Carolina Real Estate License and his Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation. George is a full member of the Urban Land Institute and serves on a small scale development council within the ULI. George is also involved with the International Council of Shopping Centers and the Triangle Commercial Association of Realtors where he served as the 2009 President of the Board of Directors. He received his BA from Wake Forest University in 1993 and his MBA from Kenan-Flagler School of Business at UNC-Chapel Hill in 2006. George is a member of the Board of Directors at Southlight, Inc., Interact, the Food Bank of Central and Eastern NC and the Downtown Raleigh Alliance, as well as serving on the Board of Directors at McDonald-York Building Company and York Properties, Inc. George has been awarded the 40 Under 40 award by the Triangle Business Journal, the Movers and Shakers award by Business Leader magazine, and the Million Dollar Leasing Club award by the Triangle Commercial Association of Realtors. George is married (Parker) and has two young boys (Smedes and Bowen).
