About Gene Brooks
Upon graduation from Georgia Tech with a Bachelor of Civil Engineering degree in 1975, Mr. Brooks spent seven years honing his professional skills and rose to the position of Regional Vice President for Hanscomb Associates, Inc., an international construction management firm. In 1982, Mr. Brooks formed Project Time & Cost, Inc. (PT&C). His vision was to create a company that provides professional cost engineering and project management services of such high quality and value that first-time clients would become long-time partners. Currently, Mr. Brooks serves as Chairman of PT&C. Mr. Brooks is still a highly qualified cost engineer who understands clients? technical requirements and needs. This has been a mark of his successto blend the technical knowledge of his profession with marketing and executive management skills. Under Mr. Brooks? leadership, PT&C has grown from seven to more than 250 full-time personnel, with offices in Atlanta, Georgia; Arlington, Virginia; Denver, Colorado; Richland, Washington; and Cumbria, United Kingdom. PT&C is recognized as one of the leading cost management firms in the nation. PT&C employs among the industry's largest single group of Certified Cost Engineers and Certified Cost Consultants, according to past statistics from the Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering International (AACEI). PT&C offers a full spectrum of cost engineering and project management consulting services to both private industry and government, encompassing a broad range of project and program types at all levels of complexity. Throughout his career, Mr. Brooks has devoted much time and effort to cultivating personal and professional relationships with his clients. He is well known and respected by executive level personnel in key government agencies, such as the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, U.S. Department of Energy and U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. His relationships have allowed Mr. Brooks to identify opportunities to successfully assist these, and other, agencies in dealing with their cost engineering and management problems. In 2005, Mr. Brooks expanded PT&C's core program management and engineering competencies to provide clients with a wide range of complementary forensic engineering services with PT&C Forensic Consulting Services, P.A. With this division, PT&C provides forensic engineering, emergency response, and fire & explosion origin and cause services to federal, insurance and industrial clients worldwide. Mr. Brooks is proud of the recognitions received from his alma mater. He is a Life Member, and in 2000 was inducted into the Georgia Institute of Technology's College of Engineering Academy of Distinguished Engineering Alumni. Mr. Brooks is a member of the Society of American Military Engineers. Mr. Brooks served on the Board of The Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Foundation from 1998-2002 and was locally recognized by Catalyst magazine at number six on the Top 50 Entrepreneurs of 2006 Portfolio. Catalyst honors leaders of Atlanta's best performing small to mid-sized companies.
