Filiberto Agusti is a partner in the Washington, DC office of Steptoe & Johnson LLP, where he has practiced law for more than 30 years. Mr. Agusti is a member of the Bars of the District of Columbia and New York and frequently appears in federal and state courts throughout the United States. He has frequently represented clients in major international arbitrations and has served as an arbitrator. He has argued in the appellate courts and is a member of the US Courts of Appeal for the District of Columbia, Second, Fourth, Sixth, Seventh, Ninth, and Eleventh Circuits. Mr. Agusti is co-author of International Business Law and its Environment, an international business transactions textbook, now in its seventh edition, used in more than 100 colleges and universities around the world. Mr. Agusti is recognized as one of the top restructuring lawyers in the United States by the Guide to the World's Leading Insolvency & Restructuring Lawyers and he is listed in Who's Who in American Law and Who's Who in Finance and Industry. Mr. Agusti is also a member of The Barristers, a private club of prominent litigating members of the District of Columbia Bar. Mr. Agusti is a frequent speaker and has authored articles for the Harvard Law Review, International Finance & Treasury, Natural Gas, and other publications.
