Elizabeth (Liz) Kellner is a co-founder of Singleton Law Firm, P.C. and brings valuable experience and perspective to her role as Paralegal/Entrepreneurship Specialist. Since Liz joined the Champaign-Urbana community thirteen years ago, she has been involved with the local technology community in multiple capacities. Liz was involved at the ground level with technology commercialization at the University of Illinois in her role as secretary and then assistant business manager at the Technology Commercialization Lab (TCL). TCL was the original technology business incubator at the University of Illinois and the precursor to the current incubator, EnterpriseWorks. Liz is credited with reserving the domain name tech.com on behalf of the University's first incubator. Following her work at TCL, Liz served as Coordinator and then Executive Director of techCommUnity, a local not-for-profit organization designed specifically to assist with the growth of the local technology community. In those roles, Liz met on a regular basis with technology companies, venture capitalists, angel investors and University officials to provide assistance and nurturing to the technology community. She oversaw and assisted in the organization and implementation of such programs as techStart (an all day event designed to provide information to technology companies getting started), techMix, and the techCommUnity mentoring program. Because of her intimate association with the tech community, Liz has an understanding of the issues and challenges that entrepreneurs face and is uniquely qualified to identify obstacles and opportunities facing our clients. She is regarded as an advocate and resource for the local technology community, and she offers this expertise and a non-legal perspective to our work on their behalf. Liz is married to David Kellner, the VP of Engineering for ANDalyze, Inc., CEO of Caviton, Inc. and President of Cogent Innovations Incorporated, three local technology companies based at EnterpriseWorks. They have two children.
