Dwain M. Clifford joined Ball Janik LLP in 2002. His principal areas of practice are commercial litigation, construction law, and insurance recovery. Prior to joining Ball Janik LLP, Mr. Clifford practiced in the commercial litigation group of Thompson & Knight LLP, a regional law firm in Dallas, Texas. At Thompson & Knight, Mr. Clifford handled a wide variety of cases, including general commercial litigation, medical malpractice, personal injury defense, and product-liability defense. Before attending law school, Mr. Clifford was a high school teacher in New Mexico and a middle school teacher in Texas. A graduate of New Mexico State University (B.A., English, with honors, 1988) and the University of New Mexico (M.A., Secondary Education, 1992), Mr. Clifford earned his J.D. degree (Order of the Coif) in 2000 from the University of Texas School of Law. He served as an Associate Editor for the Texas Law Review and worked as a research assistant in civil procedure, writing an article on class actions. Mr. Clifford is admitted to practice in Oregon, Washington, Idaho, and the U.S. District Court for the District of Oregon.
