Dr. Vaughan began his career in 1976 specializing in internal medicine in private practice. in 1984, Dr. Vaughan accepted the position of Associate Medical Director with First Colony Life Insurance Company. In 1989, he was promoted to Vice President and Medical Director, and served in this capacity until 1999. Dr. vaughan served as Consulting Medical Director at Jefferson Pilot Life Insurance Company from 1999 to 2000. He joined Fasano Associates in 2000. Dr. Vaughan has had extensive experience in the medical underwriting of settlement annuities and substandard life cases. He has also reviewed contestable death claims, accelerated death benefit claims, and waiver of premium claims. Dr. Vaughan received his undergraduate degree from Virginia Tech in 1970 and his doctor of medicine from the Medical College of Virginia in 1973. He is board certified in both internal medicine and insurance medicine, and is a member of the American Academy of Insurance Medicine, the American College of Physicians and the American Medical Association.
