David represents businesses and individuals from around the globe in complex commercial and financial fraud litigation in federal and state courts. For the last fifteen years, David has focused on consumer fraud, financial fraud, antitrust, and breach of contract cases. He has recovered more than one billion dollars for his clients. David played a leading role in the firm's consumer fraud and antitrust litigation on behalf of businesses and consumers in New York, Florida, North Carolina, and Tennessee against Microsoft Corporation. The landmark litigation charged Microsoft with having committed anticompetitive conduct, violations of state deceptive and unfair business practices statutes, and overcharging of businesses and consumers for Windows and other software. The settlements in the litigation totaled over $700 million. Among his recent successes, David brokered settlements on behalf of natural gas royalty owners in five separate class actions. The settlements -- in which class members recovered between 70% and 100% of their damages, excluding interest -- were valued at more than $160 million. David currently represents dozens of high net worth individuals in a financial fraud action that alleges Bank of America and Standard Chartered Bank defrauded investors of more than $100 million by aiding and abetting a Madoff-like Ponzi scheme in Brazil. David also represents major music publishers -- as well as the largest music publisher trade organization -- in a significant copyright infringement case against YouTube and Google.
