David Clapp specializes in assignments across a broad range of industries, with a particular focus on senior leadership searches in the B2B technology, consumer markets and professional services sectors. He also leads CarterBaldwin's rapidly growing tax and accounting practice leader service line. Prior to CarterBaldwin, David was SVP & GM in Thomson Reuters' Tax & Accounting business, a billion dollar software, content and compliance solutions provider to tax and accounting professionals around the globe. In this role, he was responsible for the US and overseas business operations of Thomson Reuters' indirect tax software and service businesses and for building a strong cross functional management team. Earlier, David served as VP of Business Development, where he managed strategy and acquisitions in the corporate tax software and services business. Prior to Thomson Reuters, David was a founder and core executive team member of Tax Partners, LLC, an Atlanta based VC funded firm that provided a technology based tax and compliance outsourcing solution to US firms. At Tax Partners he was responsible for revenue growth, channel and strategic relationship development, ultimately leading the firm through its initial years of rapid growth and culminating in the successful sale of the company to Thomson Reuters in 2005. Earlier in his career, David worked for the Coca-Cola Company as Group Marketing Manager and for Cadbury Beverages North America in brand management. Mr. Clapp started his career in sales with the Xerox Corporation. He received a BA in Political Science from Lawrence University and a Masters in Management from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University. He is on the Board of Directors of the Technology Executives Roundtable and is an active member of Johnson Ferry Church in Marietta, GA. David and his wife Mary Anne have 4 children and live in Marietta, GA.
