Cathy Welch, MEd, joined The New England Center for Children as a certified teacher in April 1980 with a Bachelor's degree in Education from Simmons College. A teaching position at NECC was her first education position out of college, and she has been here ever since! Her history at NECC has included various educational and administrative positions, including case manager, assistant coordinator, Chapter 766 coordinator, and administrative specialist. She obtained her Master's degree in Special Education Administration with certification as a SPED Administrator in 1985, by utilizing NECC's tuition reimbursement program. In 1995, she became the director of admissions. In this role she is frequently the first person families, agencies, and LEAs meet when they come to NECC.
