Carrie E. Bushman is a partner in the Sacramento office. Her practice includes traditional labor law, labor arbitrations, wage and hour law, prevailing wage and apprenticeship law, wrongful termination, sexual harassment and other employment discrimination matters. Ms. Bushman's practice also includes providing preventative advice to employers on a variety of personnel matters, including family and medical leave issues, disability accommodation, employee handbooks, background checks, drug testing, discipline and terminations. ACADEMIC BACKGROUND AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE Ms. Bushman is a cum laude graduate of the University of San Francisco School of Law. As a law student, she was a staff member of the USF Law Review and received the American Jurisprudence Award for Community Property. She graduated magna cum laude from California State University, Sacramento with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. Prior to joining Cook Brown, Ms. Bushman worked for an employee benefits and labor law firm in San Francisco and for the United States Department of Labor. She also interned for the Employment Law Center in San Francisco. Ms. Bushnan teaches a labor relations course in the Construction Management Program at California State University, Sacramento.
