Brian Ballard focuses his practice on real property and land use, with an emphasis on commercial real estate acquisition and development. Brian is the chair of the firm's Real Estate Practice Group. He represents a variety of clients in the acquisition, financing, and development of real estate, and coordinates the firm's representation of VRT, southwest Idaho's regional transportation authority, as general counsel to that organization. He also leads Hawley Troxell's eminent domain and acquisition team. Brian has lectured extensively on Section 1031 tax deferred real estate exchanges; was founding counsel for the Idaho Association of Realtors Legal Hotline; is a member of and a past-president of BOMA; and currently co-chairs the Public Participation Committee for COMPASS.
