Mr. Rosenthal has served as Chairman of Ares Capital's board of directors since 2004. Mr. Rosenthal joined Ares in 1998 and is a Founding Member of Ares Partners and a Senior Partner in Ares? Private Equity Group. Mr. Rosenthal also serves on the Investment Committee of Ares Capital Management. Prior to joining Ares, Mr. Rosenthal was Managing Director in the Global Leveraged Finance Group of Merrill Lynch and was responsible for originating, structuring and negotiating leveraged loan and high yield financings. Mr. Rosenthal was also a senior member of Merrill Lynch's Leveraged Transaction Commitment Committee. Mr. Rosenthal is a member of the following boards of directors: AmeriQual Management, Inc., Aspen Dental Management, Inc., Douglas Dynamics, LLC, Hanger Orthopedic Group, Inc. and National Bedding Company LLC (Serta). Mr. Rosenthal graduated summa cum laude with a BS in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Business where he also received his MBA with distinction.
