Alex Tartera joined the Duncan-Williams, Inc. in April 2010. As Chief Technology Officer, his role is to align technology vision with business strategy by integrating company processes with the appropriate technologies. Mr. Tartera is also responsible for all aspects of developing and implementing technology initiatives within the organization and building a support infrastructure to support new initiatives. Mr. Tartera brings over 25 years of experience with Fortune 500 companies such as FedEx, IBM and Holiday Corporation in the management, development, and implementation of leading edge technology, applications and support infrastructures. As Vice President of Information Technology at Sparks Corp, Mr. Tartera was responsible for the support, development and execution of all Information Technology strategies and infrastructure across the Sparks Corp family of businesses. While a Managing Director at FedEx, Mr. Tartera was responsible for the development and infrastructure supporting the PowerShip family applications with 120,000+ hardware/software installs worldwide and over 1.5 million software only products (FedEx Ship for Windows). These systems provided automated express shipping services for FedEx customers and accounted for over 70% of the $17B revenues at FedEx. Mr. Tartera expanded the software development oversees implementing the first global collaborative development effort. This effort provided 24-hour development, allowing FedEx to design development and implement new automation products meeting the market demands. During Mr. Tartera's tenure at IBM and Holiday Corporation, he tuned his development skills, managing projects throughout the development life cycle.
