Aileen Nicoletti, PhD Vice President [email protected] While at Defined Health, Aileen has been a project team leader for various projects in the areas of Inflammation, Auto-Immune Diseases, Ophthalmology, Dermatology, Oncology and Cardiovascular Diseases, as well as a variety of white space? areas. She manages a team of consultants and is involved in research, analysis, production and communication of scientific and clinical assessments of early-stage development agents for pharmaceutical, biotech and healthcare investment clients. Prior to joining Defined Health, Aileen was a research scientist whose pharmaceutical industry experience, academic training and publications were focused primarily on the molecular biology and genetics of Immunology, Inflammation and Vision. She held a Post-Doctoral research position at Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals, where she performed discovery research and gained project management experience on projects focused on the role of inflammatory mediators in regulating cytokine gene expression and T-helper cell development. She was a recipient of the Boehringer Ingelheim Ingot Golden Achievement Award. Aileen's graduate research at the University of Michigan included the identification of a novel gene that, when mutated, causes the inherited blinding disease, retinitis pigmentosa. Aileen is a member of the New York/New Jersey Trail Conference and enjoys hiking, mountain biking, and yoga. She received a BS in Chemistry, with Honors, from the College of William and Mary, and an MS and a PhD in Biological Chemistry from the University of Michigan.
