Youth Policy Institute

The Youth Policy Institute is a non-profit organization based in Los Angeles, California. Employing 514 people, YPI generates an annual revenue of $1 billion. YPI focuses on reducing poverty in Los Angeles neighborhoods through a holistic approach that emphasizes access to quality education and wraparound services. Their programs aim to support families from early childhood through college and career, breaking the cycle of generational poverty. Through programs like the Los Angeles Promise Zone and Promise Neighborhoods, YPI operates 138 sites across the city, employing 1,500 staff members to serve 112,000 youth and adults. YPI holds the unique distinction of being the only organization in the country to receive all three signature White House Neighborhood Revitalization Initiatives: Promise Neighborhoods, Choice Neighborhoods, and Byrne Criminal Justice Innovation.
