Youth Music Monterey

Youth Music Monterey is a non-profit organization based in Monterey, California. With six employees, the organization focuses on providing musical opportunities for young people in the Monterey area. Youth Music Monterey offers a variety of programs for aspiring musicians. These include Junior Youth and Honors Orchestras that perform three symphonic concerts annually at the Sunset Center. Three chamber music programs, featuring the Chamber Players, Brass Ensemble, and Woodwind Ensemble, provide students with intensive small-group music instruction and opportunities to give back to the community through benefit concerts. Additionally, the South County Strings program reaches over 200 students each year in rural South Monterey County, offering free group string instruction and low-cost instrument rentals. Youth Music Monterey is dedicated to fostering a love of music in young people and providing them with the skills and experience to excel in their musical endeavors. They achieve this through their commitment to high-quality musical instruction, diverse performance opportunities, and community engagement.
