Yale Emergency Medical Services

Yale Emergency Medical Services (YEMS) is a registered undergraduate organization at Yale University and a state-licensed EMS agency operating in New Haven, Connecticut. YEMS is comprised of three employees and functions as a standby EMS service, providing emergency medical coverage for Yale campus events. YEMS specializes in providing Basic Life Support (BLS) emergency medical care at Yale athletic and campus events. While they do not transport patients, crews are equipped to provide on-scene care and maintain radio contact with South Central C-MED, allowing them to request advanced life support backup from the New Haven Fire Department or transport from New Haven AMR when necessary. Beyond emergency response, YEMS offers training and certification programs to the Yale community. These include semester-long EMT certification courses offered in spring and fall, as well as regularly scheduled CPR and AED classes. For more information, visit ems.yale.edu.
