Xfire

Xfire is a privately held company based in Santa Monica, California, with a team of 25 employees. Founded in 2003, the company was acquired by Viacom in 2008 and later spun out to a new team of investors in 2010. Xfire offers social gaming services focused on connecting core gamers. Their platform provides social networking features, group voice over IP (VOIP), and chat capabilities. Users can share in-game screenshots and videos, and the platform supports live-streaming gameplay. Xfire has also launched Battleground, a new competitive gaming service featuring three modes: Instant Action, Challenges, and Tournaments.
