WK Kellogg Biological Station

WK Kellogg Biological Station (KBS) is a biological field station located in Hickory Corners, Michigan. It is a small organization with a staff of eight employees. Known internationally for its research, KBS focuses on aquatic and terrestrial ecology, evolutionary biology, and sustainable agriculture. KBS offers a variety of resources to support research endeavors. These include over 4,000 acres of land encompassing diverse habitats such as forests, old fields, streams, wetlands, lakes, and agricultural lands. The station also boasts the Kellogg Bird Sanctuary, Kellogg Conference Center and Manor House, Kellogg Farm and Pasture Dairy Center, and NSF-funded Long-term Ecological Research (LTER) and Agroecosystem Research (LTAR) sites. It serves as the main field site for the Great Lakes Bioenergy Research Center (GLBRC). Historically, the Kellogg Manor House, a former summer estate of cereal magnate W.K.
