WK Kellogg Biological Station

WK Kellogg Biological Station is a research facility located in Hickory Corners, Michigan. It is comprised of a team of 22 employees and generates revenue of $50 million annually. The station is internationally recognized for its research in aquatic and terrestrial ecology, evolutionary biology, and sustainable agriculture. KBS spans over 4,000 acres along the shores of Gull Lake, encompassing diverse habitats such as forests, fields, streams, wetlands, lakes, and agricultural lands. These diverse areas allow for extensive research opportunities in various ecological niches. In addition to its research capabilities, KBS houses the Kellogg Bird Sanctuary, Kellogg Conference Center and Manor House, Kellogg Farm and Pasture Dairy Center, NSF-funded Long-term Ecological Research (LTER) and Agricultural Research (LTAR) sites, and serves as the primary field site for the Great Lakes Bioenergy Research Center (GLBRC).
