Washington County Library

Washington County Library is a public library system headquartered in Woodbury, Minnesota. Employing 56 individuals, the library serves the residents of Washington County. Established in 1966, the library has grown to encompass six public libraries, three Library Express locations, and the Washington County Law Library. The library provides a wide range of materials and services to its patrons, including print and electronic books, CDs, DVDs, magazines, kits, ebooks, audiobooks, and video games. They host diverse programs for all ages, from storytimes and early literacy programs to arts and technology classes, book clubs, and STEM activities. In addition to these offerings, each library branch provides free internet access, public meeting rooms, color printing services, educational databases, and employment resources. The library system is deeply ingrained in the community, with nearly 80 percent of Washington County residents holding library cards. Residents consistently rate the libraries highly, with 94 percent in a recent survey providing excellent or good ratings. The Washington County Library is overseen by the Washington County Board of Commissioners, who appoint members of the Washington County Library Board.
