VOLUNTEERS IN MEDICINE CLINIC OF THE CASCADES

Volunteers in Medicine Clinic of the Cascades is a non-profit organization based in Bend, Oregon. The clinic is staffed by a team of 8 employees and relies heavily on the support of approximately 200 in-clinic volunteers and over 300 local medical partners. The clinic provides essential healthcare services to uninsured and underserved working adults aged 19 and older in Central Oregon. Patients can access primary medical care, specialty medical care, prescription medications, mental health care, and basic dental care. The clinic specializes in managing chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol, and mental health diagnoses. VIM operates on a donation-based model, with patients contributing approximately $100 per month. These patient donations, coupled with support from local and regional supporters, ensure the clinic can continue to offer its services without relying on patient or insurance payments or government funding.
