Visual Snow Initiative

The Visual Snow Initiative is a nonprofit organization headquartered in Coral Gables, Florida. Founded in 2018, the organization is comprised of a dedicated team of four employees. Their mission centers on raising global awareness, providing education, resources, patient advocacy, treatment development, and conducting research for Visual Snow Syndrome (VSS). VSS, a neurological disorder affecting an estimated 2-3% of the world's population, impacts vision, hearing, cognition, sensory processing, and overall quality of life. Since its inception, the Visual Snow Initiative has collaborated extensively with leading researchers and scientists globally, connecting experts with cutting-edge technologies in various fields like neuro-ophthalmology, neurology, ophthalmology, optometry, neuroscience, and neurobiology. Their efforts have resulted in significant advancements, including the clinical and scientific recognition of VSS as a distinct neurological condition, discoveries regarding its biological basis and pathophysiology, and the development of treatments for VSS symptoms.
