VETERANS HERITAGE PROJECT

Veterans Heritage Project (VHP) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in Phoenix, Arizona. Founded in 2004 and established as a non-profit in 2009, VHP employs four individuals and generates annual revenue of $2.5 million. VHP's mission is to connect students with veterans, honoring veterans, preserving American heritage, and developing future leaders. They offer award-winning after-school and classroom programs that provide an enriched, inter-generational experience for middle school, high school, and college students. These programs connect students with US military veterans from all branches of service. The project-based learning aligns with Arizona's State Standards for College and Career Readiness and is an AZ Department of Education certified Character Education Program. VHP's unique approach to education fosters students' 21st-century skills while enriching their understanding of history, sacrifice, and service. The opportunity for direct interaction with veterans brings history to life and encourages students to develop civic pride, accountability, and respect for others. Students participate in year-round civic activities and host regional community book signing events to honor their veterans, strengthening the bond between generations.
