UWStout Manufacturing Outreach Center MOC

The UW-Stout Manufacturing Outreach Center (MOC) is a small, four-employee organization based in Menomonie, Wisconsin. Established in 1994, the MOC is a partnership between the University of Wisconsin-Stout and five technical colleges across northern and western Wisconsin. Operating as part of the Stout Technology Transfer Institute (STTI) housed under the UW-Stout Discovery Center, the MOC is dedicated to helping manufacturers thrive. The MOC offers a range of services designed to enhance the competitiveness of small and medium-sized manufacturers. These services encompass process improvement, business growth strategies, profitability enhancement, employee development, technology integration, and sustainable solutions. The MOC leverages a variety of tools, including Lean Transformation, ISO Support, Lean Culture Development, Strategic Direction, and Enterprise Business Transformation (EBT), among others. The MOC's commitment to manufacturers extends beyond traditional business consulting. They assist with export planning through their ExporTech™ program and provide support for innovation management systems and marketing diversification. They also actively engage in research and development projects, partnering with faculty and students to explore profitable sustainability initiatives.
