UVA Physicians Group

UVA Physicians Group (UPG) is a non-profit organization based in Charlottesville, Virginia. Founded in 1979, UPG is an administratively supported group practice with a team of approximately 400 employees. UPG provides administrative and financial support to over 900 UVA clinical faculty members who are dually employed through both UPG and UVA School of Medicine's 21 clinical departments. In addition, UPG employs nearly 200 advanced practice providers and other clinicians within UVA clinical departments, and approximately 150 physicians, advanced practice providers & clinicians in practices locally and regionally. As an independent 501(c)3 University Associated Organization, UPG is governed by its own Board of Directors with a public majority. Its mission is to support UVA Health physicians and providers in delivering world-class patient care throughout Charlottesville and the Commonwealth of Virginia.
