USChina Economic and Security Review Commission

The U.S.-China Economic and Security Review Commission (USCC) is a government body headquartered in Washington, District of Columbia. The commission employs 38 people and generates an annual revenue of $5.9 million. Established in 2000 by the United States Congress, the USCC is tasked with evaluating the national security implications of the economic relationship between the United States and China. The USCC's focus areas encompass a wide range of issues, including proliferation practices, economic transfers, energy and natural resources, foreign investment, military and security affairs, cyber activities, economic conditions, foreign affairs, compliance and enforcement, freedom of information, and product safety. The commission conducts in-depth investigations and produces an annual report submitted to Congress, outlining its findings and offering recommendations for legislative and administrative action. The USCC is composed of 12 members, appointed by the leadership of both the Senate and the House of Representatives. These Commissioners serve two-year terms and are supported by a dedicated team of policy and administrative staff specializing in trade, economics, national security, foreign policy, and U.S.-China relations.
