US Attorneys Office for the Central District of California

The United States Attorney's Office for the Central District of California (USAO) is a government agency based in Los Angeles, California. Employing approximately 55 people, the USAO is responsible for representing the federal government in legal matters concerning the Central District of California. The USAO handles a wide range of legal cases, including criminal prosecutions for violations of federal law, civil lawsuits by and against the government, and actions to collect judgments and restitution. Their work spans multiple areas of law and involves cases from across the nation and internationally. As one of the largest U.S. Attorneys' offices in the country, the USAO is structured into four divisions: Criminal, National Security, Civil, and Tax. A separate Administrative Division supports the office's operations.
