University of Minnesota School of Dentistry

The University of Minnesota School of Dentistry is a higher education institution located in Minneapolis, Minnesota. As the state's only dental school, it serves a regional role for dental education, consulting, patient treatment, and continuing education across five states. The school employs 200 individuals and generates an annual revenue of $500 million. The University of Minnesota School of Dentistry offers a wide range of educational programs, including those for general dentists, dental hygienists, dental therapists, dental educators, research scientists, and practitioners in six ADA-recognized specialties: endodontics, oral and maxillofacial surgery, orthodontics, pediatric dentistry, periodontology, and prosthodontics. Advanced education programs are also available in dental hygiene, oral health for seniors, oral biology, and TMD and orofacial pain. The school provides academic leadership for a general practice residency program in partnership with University of Minnesota Medical Center, Fairview, and University of Minnesota Physicians. Additionally, it offers training programs for graduates of international dental schools seeking to practice in the United States. A unique dentist-scientist training program further enhances the institution's educational offerings. For continuing dental education, approximately 7,000 dental professionals visit the school annually.
