University of Alaska

The University of Alaska is a public higher education institution located in College, Alaska. With approximately 856 employees, the university boasts a rich history, beginning as the Alaska Agricultural College and School of Mines in Fairbanks. Over time, the institution expanded, incorporating Anchorage Community College and establishing Juneau Community College, which eventually became the University of Alaska Southeast. The University of Alaska system offers a wide range of academic programs across various disciplines to nearly 33,000 full- and part-time students. Encompassing 500 unique degree, certificate, or endorsement programs, the university caters to diverse educational needs, from short-course workforce training and associate degrees to bachelor's, master's, and doctoral programs.
