The University Art Galleries Department at Texas A&M University is a department located in College Station, Texas, dedicated to enriching the educational experiences of both the university community and the wider public through the visual arts and humanities. The department is staffed by three employees and generates an annual revenue of $2.5 million. The University Art Galleries Department oversees two distinct museums: the J. Wayne Stark Galleries and the Forsyth Galleries. The J. Wayne Stark Galleries annually showcase approximately twelve exhibitions encompassing a diverse range of subjects, from traditional fine arts and crafts to disciplines such as anthropology, archaeology, history, and science. Visitors can also explore the permanent collection, featuring works by prominent Texas artists like E.M. Buck Schiwetz, John Biggers, H.O. Kelly, Julian Onderdonk, and Dawson-Dawson-Watson. The Forsyth Galleries houses a world-renowned collection of English Cameo Glass and American and European art glass. The core of this collection was a generous gift from Bill ('35) and Irma Runyon, whose passion for art glass extended to American western and impressionist paintings.
