UniverCity Alliance

UniverCity Alliance (UCA) is a program based in Madison, Wisconsin, with a team of six employees. UCA acts as a liaison between local governments and the University of Wisconsin-Madison, facilitating collaborations between faculty, staff, and students. UCA's flagship program, UniverCity Year (UCY), links UW-Madison courses directly to local community challenges. Their mission is to connect academic expertise with real-world issues facing municipalities of all sizes. UCA also works to foster connections within the UW-Madison campus, bringing together faculty and staff interested in partnering with local governments. UCA is a part of COWS, a national think-and-do tank dedicated to finding innovative solutions for local challenges. COWS focuses on creating shared growth opportunities, environmental sustainability, and resilient democratic institutions as key components of human development.
