United Nations Association of Minnesota UNAMN

The United Nations Association of Minnesota (UNA-MN) is a non-profit organization based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. They are comprised of a small team of three employees. UNA-MN focuses on educating and inspiring Minnesotans to engage with global issues, fostering public support for the United Nations' goals and principles. They offer the Model UN Classroom Curriculum, an international education program for students in grades 7-12 that integrates classroom learning with simulations addressing human rights, peace and security, and sustainable development. Through this program, UNA-MN aims to equip students with the skills necessary to become active global citizens. Building on the curriculum, UNA-MN hosts Model UN Conferences where students assume the roles of United Nations delegates. During these conferences, students delve into research, draft resolutions, negotiate strategies, and formally present their assigned country's positions based on the UN's established rules of procedure.
