Undergraduate Learning Assistant Program at UCLA

The Undergraduate Learning Assistant Program at UCLA is a program based within the United States that employs 111 people. The program provides undergraduate students with the opportunity to become Learning Assistants (LAs) in large introductory science, engineering, and math courses. LAs assist in lecture, discussion, and/or lab settings, facilitating active learning and collaborative instruction. This program is designed to enhance the learning experience for both students and LAs. The program aims to improve the effectiveness of active learning strategies in large classes, empowering faculty to reach a diverse student body. Student LAs gain valuable skills in communication, content knowledge, and community engagement. The program also strives to increase student satisfaction and a sense of belonging within the courses.
