UNAFF United Nations Association Film Festival

UNAFF United Nations Association Film Festival is a non-profit organization based in Palo Alto, California. Founded in 1998, UNAFF has a small team of three employees and generates an annual revenue of $2.5 million. The organization is dedicated to promoting the Universal Declaration of Human Rights through the power of international documentary films. UNAFF hosts an annual film festival showcasing documentaries that address a wide range of social and global issues. These include topics such as the environment, refugees, famine, homelessness, racism, disease control, women's rights, children's issues, universal education, war and peace, and others aligned with the principles outlined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Since its inception, UNAFF has screened documentaries that have garnered significant recognition, including eight Academy Award-winning films and thirty-six nominations. The festival's 2024 theme, "SHARED HUMANITY," further emphasizes its commitment to exploring our interconnectedness and the issues that shape our shared destiny. UNAFF's 2024 festival will take place from October 17th to 27th, with screenings held in Palo Alto, East Palo Alto, San Francisco, and Stanford University.
