UCI Intellectual Property Arts and Technology Clinic

The UCI Intellectual Property, Arts, and Technology Clinic is a core legal clinic within the UC Irvine School of Law's clinical program, operating in Irvine, California. The clinic is staffed by 20 to 49 employees and generates over $10,000 in annual revenue. The clinic provides legal services to a diverse clientele, including artists, entrepreneurs, filmmakers, nonprofits, journalists, policymakers, and others. Their areas of expertise encompass copyright, patent, privacy, First Amendment, and media law. Students gain hands-on experience while analyzing the intersection of public interest and intellectual property in the digital age. The UCI Intellectual Property, Arts, and Technology Clinic is recognized for its impactful work, having been awarded a California Lawyer Attorney of the Year award in 2016 for its representation of filmmakers and authors.
