UASPACE Student Organization

UASPACE Student Organization is a multidisciplinary student team based in the United States. Comprised of three employees, the organization is dedicated to advancing space exploration and STEM education. UASPACE focuses on designing, building, and launching CubeSats. Their primary project, BAMA-1, was selected for NASA's CubeSat Launch Initiative in 2020. While a launch attempt in February 2022 was unsuccessful, UASPACE received a second opportunity to launch BAMA-2, a redesigned and enhanced version of BAMA-1. The organization aims to complete BAMA-2 by May 2023. BAMA-2 is a technology demonstration mission focused on testing a drag sail module, allowing for rapid deorbiting of the satellite. This technology is crucial for mitigating space debris and protecting operational satellites, space stations, and crewed vehicles.
