The Tai Initiative

The Tai Initiative is a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation based in Arlington, Washington. Employing 5 to 9 individuals, the organization focuses on fostering understanding and communication between Americans and Chinese citizens at the sub-national level. This includes relationships formed through state/province, city/town, university/school, commerce/business, and other non-national institutions. The Tai Initiative aims to achieve its mission through a three-pronged approach: networking sub-national leaders, teaching ethical leadership behaviors and skills, and promoting civil dialogue on the nature of civilization. They collect and disseminate "best lessons" through online and offline lectures, seminars, and travel programs, incorporating elements that enhance leadership potential in each program. Their flagship program is the China Cabinet. The organization is driven by a vision of Chinese and American local-level policymakers and leaders collaborating to develop practical solutions that elevate human dignity and economic development while addressing global challenges such as hunger, disease, and insecurity.
