The Sterling Council

The Sterling Council is a public/private not-for-profit corporation based in Tallahassee, Florida. Established in 1992, the organization is supported by the Executive Office of the Governor and comprises members from both the public and private sectors. The Sterling Council employs six people and generates annual revenue of $2.5 million. The Sterling Council is dedicated to promoting performance excellence through its flagship program, the Governor's Sterling Award for Performance Excellence. This program, overseen by the Council's Executive Committee, provides organizations with the tools and resources necessary to improve their operations and achieve higher levels of efficiency. A dedicated team of Sterling performance excellence professionals, numbering over 150 examiners and a 40-member Board of Directors, ensures the highest standards for the program.
