The Orchestra Now

The Orchestra Now (TŌN) is a pre-professional orchestra and master’s degree program based in New York City, United States. Founded in 2015, TŌN is committed to bridging the gap between modern audiences and classical music. Under the direction of conductor Leon Botstein, the orchestra focuses on performing lesser-known repertoire, reimagining traditional concert formats, and creating an immersive experience for both performers and listeners. TŌN's musicians come from diverse backgrounds, representing the United States and eleven other countries. The orchestra performs a variety of concerts, including a concert series at Bard College's Richard B. Fisher Center for the Performing Arts, performances at prestigious venues like Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center, and complimentary concerts throughout New York City's boroughs. A unique aspect of TŌN is their collaboration with The Metropolitan Museum of Art, participating in the Sight & Sound series. This series pairs orchestral performances with masterpieces from the museum's collection, exploring the intersection of music and visual arts.
