The Core Ensemble

The Core Ensemble is a small, 3-employee musical theatre company based in Lake Worth, Florida. They are dedicated to producing shows that celebrate multicultural and feminist themes, bringing diverse stories to life through music and theatre. The Core Ensemble's productions explore the lives and legacies of influential women and figures from various cultures. Their repertoire includes "Of Ebony Embers-Vignettes of the Harlem Renaissance," which celebrates African American music and poetry of the 1920s and 30s; "Tres Vidas" ("Three Lives"), a tribute to Frida Kahlo, Alfonsina Storni, and Rufina Amaya; "Ain't I a Woman!," which highlights the lives of Zora Neale Hurston, Sojourner Truth, Clementine Hunter, and Fannie Lou Hamer; and "Los Valientes" ("The Courageous Ones"), a production featuring Diego Rivera, Archbishop Oscar Romero, and Joaquin Murrieta. Each production features a unique musical tapestry woven from diverse genres, including jazz, blues, folk music, tangos, and Latin American compositions.
