The Community Tax Law Project

The Community Tax Law Project (CTLP) is a non-profit organization based in Richmond, Virginia. With a staff of four dedicated individuals, CTLP plays a crucial role in ensuring tax fairness for low-income residents. CTLP provides free legal representation to Virginia taxpayers facing tax disputes, ensuring they understand their rights and responsibilities within the tax system. Their services extend beyond representation, encompassing educational programs and advocacy for issues affecting low-income taxpayers. CTLP's team, supplemented by a panel of approximately 100 pro bono volunteers, assists around 1,000 taxpayers and families annually.
