The Community Development Trust (CDT) is a private real estate investment trust (REIT) and a certified national Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) based in New York. Founded in 1998, CDT employs 35 people and generates $6.6 million in annual revenue. CDT partners with local, regional, and national organizations across the United States to invest in affordable housing. They make long-term equity investments and originate and acquire long-term mortgages for these properties. CDT's mission is to ensure long-term housing affordability and enhance the quality of life for residents of low- and moderate-income communities. Currently, they invest $3.6 billion in debt and equity capital across 45 states and regions, supporting more than 38,000 housing units that provide stable homes for over 140,000 residents.
