The Arc of Luzerne County

The Arc of Luzerne County is a private, non-profit organization based in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. With 5 to 9 employees, The Arc is a membership based organization guided by a volunteer board of directors. They are dedicated to improving the quality of life for children and adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD). The Arc provides information, encourages the development of well-coordinated services, monitors program quality, and works directly with individuals with IDD and their families. Their mission is to assist in skill development, access to services, and problem resolution. The Arc believes in the fundamental rights of all people with IDD, advocating for their right to be treated with respect and dignity, to live, work, and play in their community, to live as independently as possible, to develop their skills to their fullest potential, and to be protected from neglect, abuse, exploitation, and discrimination.
