Texaco

Texaco is a company based in Harrison, New York. It was founded in 1901 and, until 2001, operated as an independent entity. Texaco employed 3,155 people and generated $1 million in revenue. Texaco was known for its nationwide network of gas stations, selling gasoline under the same brand name in all 50 US states and Canada. The company's iconic logo, a white star in a red circle, was a prominent symbol in its advertising campaigns. Texaco also introduced the Techron additive to its fuels in the US and parts of Latin America. Following a merger with Chevron Corporation in 2002, most of Texaco's station franchises were divested to Shell Oil Company.
