Terps Racing

Terps Racing is a student organization based in College Park, Maryland, comprising approximately 100 members. The organization is divided into two teams: Formula SAE and Baja SAE, each focused on designing, building, and racing their respective vehicles in collegiate competitions. Terps Racing's Formula SAE team competes in intercollegiate challenges where students design and build formula-style race cars. The Baja SAE team designs and builds off-road vehicles designed to withstand demanding terrain. Both teams' efforts are evaluated by industry professionals who assess aspects such as marketability, cost, performance, and engineering. The design, build, and testing process provides students with valuable hands-on experience in areas like computer-aided design (CAD) modeling, finite element analysis (FEA), computational fluid dynamics (CFD), design analysis and testing, and leadership skills.
