Superior Court of Washington for Cowlitz County

The Superior Court of Washington for Cowlitz County is a state trial court of general jurisdiction located in Kelso, Washington. The court employs 26 people and generates an annual revenue of $50 million. The Superior Court handles a wide range of legal matters with state-wide jurisdiction. These include serious criminal cases (felonies), civil cases involving real property, domestic relations (family law) matters, and appeals from lower courts. The court also hears appeals from state administrative agencies, as well as cases related to adoption, probate, and competency. Juvenile Court, a department of Superior Court, focuses on juvenile offender matters, truancy, at-risk youth (BECCA) cases, and child dependency cases.
