Special Gifts Theatre Inc

Special Gifts Theatre Inc. is a non-profit organization based in Northbrook, Illinois. With a team of 17 employees, the company is dedicated to providing theatre arts experiences for individuals with disabilities. Special Gifts Theatre offers four individualized programs to serve 300 participants annually in Chicagoland. These programs include Musical Theatre, Creativity in Motion, Creating Outside the Lines, and peer mentor programming with disability inclusion training. Musical Theatre is an educational and therapeutically based program culminating in a fully adapted musical theatre performance for youth ages 10-22. The organization also produces 12 live performances annually, reaching over 45,000 people since its founding in 2000. SGT's specialized staff comprises special education teachers, therapists, and theatre arts professionals. Peer mentors and volunteers provide individualized support to each student, helping them achieve success and develop as inclusive leaders. The company's focus is on the student actor's strengths, adapting every aspect of the programming to fully engage each individual and allow them to shine.
