Southwest Voter Registration Education Project

The Southwest Voter Registration Education Project (SVREP) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization based in San Antonio, Texas. Founded in 1974, SVREP is the largest and oldest non-partisan Latino voter participation organization in the United States. With 23 employees, SVREP is dedicated to increasing the political power of the Latino community. SVREP focuses on mobilizing the Latino vote and empowering the community to be more engaged in the democratic process. The organization achieves this through voter registration projects, leadership training programs, and advocacy efforts. SVREP has a proven track record of success, having registered 2.7 million Latinos to vote and trained 150,000 Latino leaders. Since its inception, SVREP has played a significant role in expanding the Latino vote in the United States. The organization has won 155 voting rights lawsuits and has empowered countless Latinos to become elected officials, nonprofit leaders, and business owners.
