Southwest Pipe Trades Association

The Southwest Pipe Trades Association (SWPTA) is a non-profit organization based in Harlingen, Texas. Established in 1914, SWPTA is a relatively small organization with three employees. SWPTA represents the interests of union workers and contractors in the plumbing and pipe fitting industry across New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas. They primarily serve journeymen and apprentice plumbers, pipe fitters, welders, sprinkler fitters, and HVACR service technicians who are members of the 13 local unions within these states. The association prides itself on advocating for the well-being and professional development of its members. SWPTA works to ensure fair working conditions, promote apprenticeship programs, and advance the standards of the plumbing and pipe fitting trades.
