South Yuba River Citizens League, known as SYRCL, is a leading nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting and restoring the Yuba River. Based in Nevada City, California, SYRCL boasts over 3,500 members and volunteers. Founded in 1983, the organization started as a grassroots campaign to protect the South Yuba River from proposed hydropower dams.
